Sorensen Family: Eleven Months

Well... here are again, that was quick. Guess we should get these posted on time, huh? Ugh.

11 Months... In one short month, our little boys will be a year old. This has been quite the year, but we will wait to reflect on that for another month.

This month, we brought Nolan back to the Neurologist who is very happy with his development. So far he is doing great and showing no signs of any problems. As far as his therapy is concerned, once he can walk, they are done and he is fine, but the neurologist wants to keep an eye on him to make sure no other problems develop. They will keep watching him until he is two. He will get another MRI at some point then, just to see how things look, but should be in the clear then. (As far as we are concerned, we are in the clear now.) He is doing awesome and we are so proud of him.

Alright, now that that is out of the way... we are almost walking! Mackay is so excited about it, and really tries, but he's so excited that he gets really goofy and looses balance. Nolan usually comes around after he sees his brother doing it, but he has started trying as well and isn't quite as goofy. We think they'll figure it out together. You can see how proud they are of themselves when you help them. Mackay LOVES walking, Nolan would rather jump, but it really makes them so happy.

They really take turns when they have bad days. If one is needy and fussy, the other one is really good, and this usually only happens about once a week anyway. It's really nice and much easier on mom and dad.

Both boys can say mama (when they want to) and dada (pretty much constantly), and we're pretty sure Mackay says Lady. Listening to them talk is one of our favorite things. They are hilarious. They scream constantly. Grocery stores are probably their favorite place. They both stand up in the back of the cart together (almost like they are surfing, haha) and just scream... LOUDLY! They think they are pretty funny.

We went to Moab to see family right before they turned eleven months, and they had a blast with cousin Colton. Colton loved them as well. Playing with them was his favorite thing. He helped us with everything. He wanted to get in the bath with them, but settled for helping wash them. What a character. Mackay was playing with a little Lightening McQueen car that Colton had in the mountain, he was driving it up and down the trailer, his new favorite game is to push things on the ground and crawl behind them, so we decided they needed a few cars of their own... boy was that a great purchase. We got them some Lightening McQueen cars and they refuse to put them down, especially Nolan. He sleeps with the thing. It's really cute.

Here are a few individual notes:

Nolan-

-Total daddy's boy, but really loves his mama too.
-Loves books and reading.
-Loves his sleep but gets pretty restless around 5:00 and 6:00 am.
-Always smiling, very easy going, very content.
-Very interested in new loud noises, always looks for the source.
-Finally getting good at climbing and cruising around the furniture.

Mackay-

-Definitely a mama's boy. Still loves his daddy, but is a mama's boy.
-Gets to distracted to read a lot, but loves it when he thinks about it.
-Doesn't need as much sleep as his brother, and fights naps harder, but sleeps much more soundly.
-A little more needy, as he doesn't stay as content and needs things to keep him busy.
-Hates loud noises (just like his mama) the vacuum makes him cry.
-Getting very daring on the furniture, takes a lot of chances moving to things that are far away and launching himself off things.

We go outside every night about 7:00 pm, an hour before we start to get them ready for bed, and they love it. They crawl all over, try to eat every leaf in sight and watch Lady run around or anyone who walks by. They watch every car or truck that drives by and especially love the loud motorcycles. They look for the train (Trax runs right behind our backyard) every time they hear it. Lately they think they can crawl up the stairs.

We think they may be teething, they have runny noses and aren't eating super great, but they aren't fussy. We'll see.
