Whoa... This year we had a very busy Thanksgiving weekend. We started out at Grandma Julie's. Everyone was there. Grandma's mom, Charlotte, and sister Catherine, her husband Jerry, and two of their daughters (Kate and Leslie) and their families came too. Kate and Leslie both have boys who are almost two, they are part of the seven great grandsons in ten months that Grandma Charlotte had last year, in addition Kate has two older kids. It was a lot of fun and it's always so nice to hang out with them and see their families too. The twins were a little confused about other kids their own age being at grandma's house, although they did try to play with them a little. They are getting used to other kids, now that we have been called to the nursery, but they still aren't quite sure about playing with them. They mostly like to chase each other around, and the other kids don't really know what to do about it.
Later in the afternoon grandma's sister, Chris, came with her entire family. She has seven kids, all with children of their own. Three more of the seven were part of this group (with us being the other two). It was a lot of fun to see them, a few of them live out of state and we don't get to see them often. The twins went down for a nap right before they all came, but woke up right before they all left, so everyone was able to watch them run around... but boy were they exhausted. They only slept about 20 minutes, and they usually sleep an hour and a half in the afternoons.
Mama got sick at about 2:00 am and then was up with a crying Nolan until about 5:00 am. We woke up at 9:00 am and prepared for the Sorensen Extravaganza that day. This is the day that grandpa Kent's family has an annual Christmas Party/Reunion. Grandpa Kent had ten brothers and sisters and they all had lots of kids too, now there are lots of little great grandkids runnin around Maynard and Noni. It's fun to see all of this family and to see where Grandpa Kent came from, it helps us all get to know him a little better. The party starts at 8:00 am and last usually until 7:00 or 8:00 pm and is jam packed with programs and food. We didn't go until around 1:00 pm, so that the twins could get at least one nap and some lunch in. We were in one huge room with over 100 people inside, and our boys just like to run, run, run, run... it was another very busy afternoon, although they did get a much better nap in this time.
Santa came to the party and brought the boys some little books for Christmas. They were definitely nervous about him.
