They are both finally sitting, well enough to say they are sitting up. They are much happier because they can keep themselves entertained. They scoot, just push their little bums in the air until they roll their heads into the floor over their little arms. They roll over and now like being on their tummies so they don't roll back onto their backs immediately. They have both started reaching for what or who they want as well, although Nolan tries harder and will attempt to climb up you if you are what he wants.
They didn't eat very well when they were sick and have kind of kept to a slightly smaller diet ever since. They were eating seven ounce bottles every three hours, even after eating their baby food. Now we can barely get them through six ounce bottles, but only four at night after they eat their food. Maybe they won't be in such a high percentile when we go back to the doctor at nine months.
Nolan
-He's a better scooter, he will make himself fall from a sitting position just to get onto his tummy, chew on his binki, and talk, talk, talk.
-He's begun jabbering like you wouldn't believe. He has his own little language and it takes him to his own little world.
-He loves his binki. It is his favorite toy. The whole thing is rubber and he chews on every piece of it. He likes to stick it in his mouth, sideways and look up at you with a goofy proud look on his face and chomp on it.
-Still loves his feet crossed, with one resting on top of the toes on his other foot.
-Loves being in his walker. It has a little ball on the side that just rolls, and he's figured out how to make it roll with his thumb. He will look at you (or Lady) and sit and roll it without even looking at it).
-Loves his brother. He is still super protective (while we were in the hospital, he would look at mama whenever a male nurse came in to listen to Mackay and start whining because he knew his brother didn't like the male nurses).
-He's now the one who tries to talk to Mackay constantly.
Mackay
-Doesn't scoot as well, because he doesn't care to. He keeps himself very entertained with whatever is in front of him. When he wants something else, he knows how to get it, he can scoot, but it's easier to get mom's attention and help her figure out what he wants.
-Yells and growls like you wouldn't believe... this kid is so LOUD! He definitely wants to make sure you know he's in the room, and he thinks he's pretty funny.
-He likes to take his brother's binki and chew on it. His is hard plastic and is not as much fun to chew on. Unless he has a teething ring around, he loves chewing on everything.
-He's begun kicking his feet a lot, he splashes so much in the bath, he soaks his mama.
-Loves giving kisses, especially to mama. He will grab your face and position it where he wants it and put his drooly little mouth right on your face. Mama's kisses involve yelling into her mouth and pinching the back of her neck.
-He will usually acknowledge that his brother is talking to him, but is not interested in many conversations.
Both boys LOVE Lady. They will see her across the room and start giggling or yelling at her to get her attention. When she walks by they grab at her snout or collar and try to pull her closer. When mom and dad get upset at Lady for licking their mouths, the babies look at you upset that you got mad at their friend. She is probably their favorite toy.
They think that open mouths are very funny. It always makes them smile... even when they are tired.
They love bath time and when they both get to kicking, splashing, and giggling... bath time is very fun.
We have yet to find something they didn't like to eat. Mackay hasn't loved some of the food we've gone back to, but will still get it down. Nolan will eat anything you put in his mouth. We've started sharing tiny pieces of our food, and it's taken them awhile to get used to different textures. Each time we get the best scrunchy faces while they try to figure out what you just gave them and whether or not they really like it.
They think that fake coughing, gagging, and choking will get them what they want... this gets frustrating, but we usually get our way. Ultimately, they know that they are not the boss.
They LOVE walks and swinging.
We watch Disney Jr. in the morning while we are getting ready, and they LOVE Mickey Mouse clubhouse. They hear it start and both of their little heads turn toward the TV, no matter what they are doing, and they grin. They know the Mousketool song, and Hot Dog Dance song, and they will find the TV whenever they start.
Every one comments on how happy they are... EVERYONE. No matter where we go or what we are doing, they smile at everyone who talks to them. They are so much fun and are getting more fun every day. We've run into other people with twins, who say it only gets harder from here, but to us, things are getting more fun by the day. The more they can do and the more they grow and learn new things they just get more fun. They get happier and seem easier to us.
We have had quite an experience learning just how lucky we are (we love having twins and feel very blessed simply for the fact that we got two at once) when we meet other couples who have twins and the first question we are asked is if we are getting any sleep. Our boys have always slept through the night. Ever since Nolan came home from the NICU, we have been getting at least five or six hours of sleep per night. They don't always do super great with naps, but we are fine with it when we get to sleep at night.
We will always say that we love having twins. They are so much fun. They are definitely a lot of work, double duty everything, but they are so worth it. We have decided that we would love to have twins again, as long as we got girls, and we could then be done. No more pregnancies. That would be ideal. (Don't get any ideas, we are not planning on having any more children for a few years, our hand are definitely full for now).
Seven Month Picture Time (at least mom's pictures... we'll get the professional ones posted as soon as we get them).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!
NOLAN
MACKAY
Nolan tipped over, and neither of them seemed to mind at all.
They love sleeping together.
